Express Transport Observatory

Express Transport Pulse 2026

Transport is changing, and many of the decisions we make today will shape the way the industry operates in the future.

Changes that directly affect the 2.5–3.5 t segment can have broader consequences for customers, partners and the wider commercial vehicle market. In this study, we want to understand whether these effects remain within the segment or spread to other parts of the market, all the way to 40 t.

Through this study, we want to understand what is happening in practice: how transport operators, intermediaries, customers and other companies across the transport ecosystem are experiencing these changes.

It may be relevant to you too

Relevant even if you operate larger vehicles.
If you work with 40 t transport, arrange transport through intermediaries, purchase transport services, or provide products and services to the industry, your perspective helps us understand whether changes in one segment are beginning to have an impact on others.

Different perspectives. A clearer picture.

Separate analysis of different participant groups.
Transport operators, intermediaries, customers and companies across the wider ecosystem are analysed separately and compared where relevant. This helps us identify where effects are widespread and where they are specific to individual groups — and understand where the market is moving.

Results that may benefit you directly

Participants who complete the core survey will receive a summary of the results in October 2026.
This will allow you to compare your own experience with the wider market and gain an overview of the trends and decisions shaping the industry.

Core section: approximately 5–6 minutes

What we want to know

Express Transport Pulse 2026 examines how changes in road and express transport are experienced by different market participants — carriers, intermediaries, clients and companies in the ecosystem.

An important focus of the study is the effect of the new requirements applicable from 1 July 2026 to 2.5–3.5 t vehicles used in international transport, as well as how these changes may affect other segments of express road transport.

Responses are collected between 25 August to 25 September 2026, and the first results will be presented at the Annual Conference of Express Freight Carriers in Romania.

How answers are used

Results are analysed and presented only in aggregated and anonymised form. We do not publish individual responses or identify participants or companies in the study results.

The tax ID is used only to prevent duplicate responses and retain one primary response per company. It does not appear in the public results.

The email address, if you choose to provide it, is kept separate from the analysed responses and may be used to send the results summary or for the options you select.

Participation is voluntary, and questions marked as optional may be left unanswered.

About the method

Implementation recommendation: secondary / expandable section.

Participation is voluntary, and the sample consists of companies that choose to respond. For this reason, the study is not a probability survey and the results will not be presented as statistically representative of the entire market.

Results are reported separately for carriers, intermediaries, clients and the ecosystem, and percentages are accompanied by the base of valid responses.
